Geek Therapy for queer and trans clients
Lance Madow is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (APC) in Georgia and a registered counseling intern in Florida. They specialize in providing affirming care for queer, trans, and gender-expansive clients ages 13 and older, with a focus on anxiety, OCD, identity exploration, and life transitions. Lance integrates Geek Therapy—using Dungeons & Dragons, media, cosplay, and other aspects of geek culture—to make therapy approachable, empowering, and fun.
What you can expect in our work together
Clients describe Lance as humorous, laid-back, and affirming. Together, you’ll slow down racing thoughts, examine habits you want to change, and build skills to reclaim your time and energy. Lance works to create a space where clients can feel truly seen for every part of who they are, including their passions and creativity.
How I support healing
Lance’s therapeutic style combines affirming, trauma-informed care with practical skill-building for boundaries, anxiety management, and compulsive thoughts. Through Geek Therapy, clients can bring their favorite games, shows, or fandoms into sessions, making therapy feel less intimidating and more collaborative.
A little about me
Outside of counseling, Lance has been playing role-playing games for more than a decade and loves reading sci-fi and fantasy. Their own journey through therapy opened their eyes to the lack of queer-affirming support available, inspiring them to become the counselor they once needed. Today, Lance is committed to creating safe, brave spaces where LGBTQIA+ clients can thrive.
