QueerPsych exists so 2SLGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent people can find care without having to wonder whether they’re safe. Every provider profile is reviewed by our team, made up of people from the community, before it’s published in the directory.
What we look for
- Verified credentials. We confirm a valid NPI, license number, or certification from a recognized credentialing body, depending on your field. For providers in training, we verify the supervisor’s credentials.
- Experience supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ people. Your background shows real work with, and care for, our community.
- Understanding of identity. You bring knowledge of gender identity, sexuality, and the unique challenges our community faces.
- Neuro-affirming practice. Queerness and neurodivergence often overlap. You support neurodivergent clients as they are, without trying to “fix” how their minds work.
- A clear stance against conversion therapy. Your practice does not offer, support, or condone conversion therapy in any form.
- Inclusive, non-discriminatory language. We review your profile, website, and social media (if applicable) for affirming language and a commitment to non-discrimination.
- Alignment with our community. Our team reviews your full profile to make sure it’s a safe fit for the people who use QueerPsych.
How verification works
- You submit your profile and the one-time $15 verification fee.
- Our team reviews it against these standards, typically within [X] business days. If information is missing, we’ll contact you.
- Approved profiles are published with the QueerPsych Verified Badge.
If your profile isn’t approved
We’ll tell you why and invite you to our Affirming Care Training. Your $15 verification fee is credited toward the cost of the training, and completing it earns your verification.
Ongoing standards
Verified providers are expected to continue meeting these standards. If we receive concerns about a listed provider, we may review the profile again and remove it if it no longer meets them.
