Welcome to QueerPsych. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website https://www.queerpsych.com, your membership, and any subscription services we provide. By using our site, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms.

1. Subscriptions & Payments

  • Memberships & Subscriptions: Some areas of QueerPsych require a paid subscription. Pricing, features, and duration are listed on our website and may change from time to time.
  • Billing: Payments are processed securely through third-party processors (e.g., WooPayments, Stripe, ApplePay, etc). You authorize us to charge your selected payment method for all subscription fees.
  • Renewals: Subscriptions may automatically renew unless you cancel prior to the renewal date.
  • Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Services remain active until the end of the current billing cycle; refunds are not provided for partial terms.
  • Failure to Pay: If a payment is declined, your subscription may be suspended or terminated until payment is successfully processed.

2. User Accounts

  • Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account or profile.
  • Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, harm our community, or misuse the platform.

3. Use of the Directory

  • Public Profiles: Information you provide for your directory listing may be displayed publicly to help clients connect with providers.
  • Verification: We may verify the accuracy of professional information provided in listings but do not guarantee or warrant credentials beyond what is submitted and reviewed in our verification process.
  • No Guarantee: QueerPsych does not endorse or assume responsibility for any provider, practice, or service listed. Clients are responsible for evaluating providers before engaging in services.
  • Client Relationships: QueerPsych is not a party to any provider-client relationship and is not liable for outcomes or services provided.

4. Expected Behavior

We are committed to maintaining a safe, affirming, and professional environment for all users. By using QueerPsych, you agree:

  • To treat all users, clients, and providers with respect and kindness.
  • Not to engage in harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or abusive conduct.
  • Not to post false, misleading, or defamatory content.
  • Not to use QueerPsych for unlawful purposes, spam, or solicitation outside of permitted directory use.
  • To follow all applicable laws and regulations in your professional practice and online interactions.

Violations of these expectations may result in account suspension or removal from the platform without refund.

5. Community Standards

QueerPsych exists to connect, uplift, and empower the queer mental-health community. All users agree to uphold the following standards when engaging with our website, directory, and community spaces:

  • Affirming Language: Use inclusive, respectful language in profiles, messaging, and public content.
  • Respect for Boundaries: Honor personal and professional boundaries of providers, clients, and community members.
  • Professionalism: Represent qualifications, services, and availability accurately and transparently.
  • Constructive Engagement: Communicate in ways that foster understanding and connection; personal attacks or hostility are not acceptable.
  • Accessibility & Sensitivity: Recognize and respect diverse experiences, abilities, and needs in all interactions.
  • Accountability: When mistakes occur, take responsibility and make corrections with care and openness.

These standards reflect QueerPsych’s values of safety, affirmation, and community care.

6. Non-Discrimination Policy

QueerPsych is committed to equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination based on:

  • Race, ethnicity, or cultural background
  • Religion or spiritual beliefs
  • Sexual orientation
  • Gender identity or gender expression
  • Relationship structure
  • Disability, neurodivergence, or health status
  • Age
  • Body size, shape, or weight
  • Socioeconomic status
  • Any other identity, lived experience, or characteristic

Violations and Enforcement

  • Immediate Action: Content or behavior that violates this policy may be removed without notice.
  • Account Suspension or Termination: Users engaging in discriminatory or harassing behavior may have accounts suspended or permanently terminated, without refund.
  • Reporting: Community members may report violations via our contact form or email. Reports will be reviewed promptly and confidentially.
  • No Retaliation: Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern or participates in a review process is strictly prohibited.
  • Ongoing Monitoring: QueerPsych reserves the right to monitor activity on the platform to uphold community safety and integrity.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Our Content: All materials on QueerPsych (including text, graphics, logos, and design) are owned by QueerPsych or its licensors and are protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
  • Your Content: You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as your profile information or articles) but grant QueerPsych a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and use that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the directory and related services.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • QueerPsych provides an informational directory and community platform. We do not provide medical, mental-health, or legal advice.
  • Providers are solely responsible for their services and professional conduct.
  • QueerPsych makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of listings or content.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, QueerPsych and its affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on information provided.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in New York, unless otherwise required by law.
